Steampunk Octopus Attack Wedding Cake Topper

This is not only my first wedding cake topper but also my largest sculpture!

My friend wanted something for her steampunk themed wedding but, really had no idea on what she wanted. All she told me was something with an octopus, perhaps a girlie, and steampunkish. So basically had free reign over it haha. Since her fiance was going to have a huge octopus painted on his head, I figured the octopus would represent him and she would be the robotic girlie the octopus caught. Ah well at least they loved it!

Thankfully, I made it just the right size to fit on the cake (I had no idea how big the cake was haha). It started to sink in a bit.... stupid smaller dowel >.< ... but that's why it looks a little tilted.

Eventually, she will give it back to me so I can put it all on a ocean platform. Then it will be an actual stand alone sculpture and not a bunch of free roaming tentacles.

The octopus is around 10 inches in length and 6 inches high
The girlie is around 8-9 inches in length
30 hours to complete
